Miami Beach, December 3, 2013 - Fashion and art collided early in the week of Art Basel Miami Beach when Harper’s Bazaar hosted a select group of influencers and VIPs for a decadent brunch celebrating ShopBazaar.com at Soho Beach House. Creating a brick and mortar version of the e-commerce site, guests experienced what it was like to shop the pages of Harper’s Bazaar. Presented by John Hardy and hosted by Harper’s Bazaar Digital Director Joyann King, along with Monica Kalpakian, Ines Rivero and Nikki Simkins, the event marked the first celebration in a series of events throughout the week as part of Bazaar Art Basel in Miami Beach. Miami Beach, FL – December 4, 2013 - Keeping the Art Basel Miami Beach events going, Roger Dubuis celebrated Haute Horlogerie with a private dinner hosted by CEO Jean-Marc Pontroué and Gerard Butler last night at the W Hotel. The event, which was also presented by Dom Perignon, showcased Roger Dubuis Excalibur Quatuor, a watch unlike any other and a piece of Haute Horlogerie. Guests, like Eva Longoria, Serena Wiliams, Russell Simmons, Loren Ridinger and Jonathan Cheban admired the amazing feat in watchmaking while sipping bubbly poured from Jeff Koons-designed, limited-edition Dom Perignon bottles. Afterward, the A-list guests gathered at a private Dom Perignon-themed after-party that went until the week hours of the night.

Miami Beach, FL – December 5, 2013 - The beach, barbecue and a beautiful installation combined when Louis Vuitton hosted its barbecue for the Design Miami satellite installation of Charlotte Perriand’s “La Maison au bord de l’eau— 1934″ at The Raleigh Hotel on South Beach. Hosted by Louis Vuitton Malletier Chairman and CEO Michael Burke with Alexia Niedzielski, co-founder of System Magazine, and Jean Pigozzi, art collector, philanthropist and photographer. At the heart of the celebration was Perriand’s version of the modern home. The house, which was conceived decades ago, was finally completed in 2013 at Art Basel Miami Beach and serves as the inspiration for the brand’s Spring/Summer 2014 “Icons” ready-to-wear, leathergoods, shoes and accessories collections.

The select customers invited to the event, including Michelle Williams, Delphine Arnault, Kate Young, Louise Bourgoin, Becca Cason Thrash, Julio Santo Domingo, Pernette Perriand, Lily Kwong and Colette Rousseaux, enjoyed a beachside barbecue, lobster, stone crabs and fish tacos, while taking in the installation that reflects a generous 1930′s utopia linking social needs with architecture.

The strikingly beautiful collection consists of a pendant, ring, bracelet and brooch.

Guests admired the pieces, while sipping champagne and taking in the exclusive “Stalker” installation by Baptiste Debombourg. The site-specific work was created just to celebrate the avant-garde jewelry collection. The piece consists of shattered, dismantled and ripped raw materials that underwent a transformation from discarded everyday objects to work of art.

Miami Beach, FL – December 3, 2013 - Watch lovers and car enthusiasts gathered at IWC Schaffhausen’s Soirée Haute Horlogerie at the Bal Harbour waterfront residence of Alan and Ruth Zelcer to celebrate the exclusive viewing of a vintage 1939 Mercedes Silver Arrow.

The car, which was only driven in one race, remains in pristine condition, making it the eye candy for the evening, complete with vintage pics of the car from the 1930s lining the walls of the home. The car marks a partnership between the Swiss watch manufacturer and Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team As the Official Engineering Partner. The two brands have been affiliated since 2004.

Guests dined on a meal prepared by celebrity chef Michael Mina, who paired marinated octopus and hay-smoked filet with Krug Champagne. VIP guests included IWC President Gianfranco D’Attis, CEO Georges Kern, Porsche Tower developer Gil Dezer, socialite Barbara Becker as well as Haute Living CEO Kamal Hotchandani. After dinner, special guest Estelle sang American Boy and other songs to the crowd, who took in the performance by dancing the night away.

Miami Beach, FL – December 8, 2013 - Fabian Basabe, Erin Newberg, Anthony Spinello and Alegria Beracasa hosted a brunch with Lacoste to celebrate the finished piece entitled “Rockodile.” The site-specific art installation from Lacoste and Details creative innovator Mark A. Reigelman II was built over the course of December 5 through December 8. The work, which draws inspiration from the curious diet of American crocodiles, consists of more than 5,500 black rocks suspended in the shop’s window. Each rock is made of 100 percent post-consumer materials (think DVDs and DVD cases shredded and cast into stone form). At night, the rocks radiant a fantastic phosphorescent green hue.

Miami Beach, FL – December 11, 2013 - Artist Alexander Mijares’ work appeared at multiple locations during this years Art Basel Miami Beach, including his solo show at Mijares Gallery in Wynwood, his piece for Heineken, and at the SLS Hotel’s XIV Party where he was invited to transform its iconic duck sculpture into a creation of his own. One of the most exciting affairs was when Details Guild, along with Italian fashion house Brioni, selected Mijares to produce a mural inspired by a print from one of the brand’s anxiously awaited spring/summer 2014 collection pieces. The artwork was then displaced in the Brioni Boutique at the Bal Harbour Shops.

Alexandria Hilfiger Private High Tea & Collection Launch

Miami Beach, FL – December 6, 2013 - The newest kid on the South Beach block, Riviera South Beach Hotel, made a name for itself in the neighborhood already when it opened its doors to Alexandria Hilfiger’s newest collection, “Melting Water” during Art Basel Miami Beach. Dubbed an “artist to watch,” the hotel presented her work during a private high tea.

Playing for the crowd, the Greater Miami Youth Symphony performed a live jazz concert, as the guests took in the art at the ground-floor pool of the hotel. Proceeds from the pieces benefitted the Lyme Research Alliance, a non-profit that raises awareness for Lyme disease, which Alexandria Hilfiger was diagnosed with 22 years ago.

In attendance was Tommy Hilfiger and wife Dee, Lionel Richie, Gina Gershon, Alex Young, Marc Quinn, Mike deLease, Jason Binn, Tatijana Shoan, Alan and Nathan Lieberman and Hana Bisceglie, who sipped beverages by Bonito Mezcal, Fruzen Ice, Peroni Beer, Pamplonne, and Perrier.

Each guests also received a RumbaTime watch, as well as cosmetics from Smashbox and a copy of As If magazine.

Robert Zuckerman Brunch

December 6, 2013 - Kicking off Art Basel weekend, the new hotel The Riviera South Beach, hosted a brunch in honor of celebrity photographer Robert Zuckerman’s newest exhibition Portraits where invite-only guests enjoyed brunch from Moreno’s Cuba, which is located inside the hotel. Guests sipped Zonin Prosecco, Bonito Mezcal cocktails, as well as Peroni Beers and Perrier Water. Creating a smooth background sound was local Miami DJ German Garcia.

While taking in the photos placed throughout the courtyard, host Alberto Carvalho, superintendent of Miami Dade County Public Schools, gave a speech to his friend Zuckerman, while the new Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine also gave a speech thanking the two for their work with the community.

 ”Don’t Worry Baby” Pool Party

December 8, 2013 - The Art Basel edition of Don’t Worry Baby was one to remember. Partnering with Slap & Tickle at Riviera Hotel, the prime music and fashion party gave the rooftop of the hotel a sip, shop and dance-fueled fete. With Pirate Stereo, Perseus, and Moon Boots making beats and guests enjoying Coconut Cartel coconuts spiked with Sailor Jerry rum, it was a a perfect close to Basel. From the Peroni Beer, Zonin Prosecco, Pampelonne, Perrier and LIQS cocktail shot to the Funk Yu sushi hors d’oeuvres, there was as much to taste as there was to shop, including IShine365’s collections from For Love and Lemons, Wildfox Couture, Mariyuu York, The Gilded Hand and UnTuckIt.

The biggest shock of the night, however: A pop-up tattoo parlor shop by Sailor Jerry, for a parting gift that will stick around for Basels to come.
